About the Company:

We are an award winning, internationally recognised Living Museum with 50 historic buildings and gardens. Set in 40 acres of the beautiful South Downs National Parks, the museum attracts around 150,000 visitors each year with a varied and exciting programme of events.

They are looking for engaged and self-motivated HR professional to join our senior management team as a stand-alone HR Manager.

About the Human Resources Mana ger role:

The HR Manager will take a collaborative and positive approach in managing Human Resources and Volunteer functions at the Museum.

The role will suit an experienced and flexible CIPD qualified HR generalist with a strong track record in managing change and dealing with complex ER issues. Highly effective influencing and relationship building skills are essential as is experience of working with volunteers in a charity.

Human Resources Manager Key Responsibilities:

* To participate in strategic planning as part of the senior management team to drive alignment between HR strategy and business goals whilst promoting behavioural change and raising awareness of the people agenda.
* To work collaboratively to manage the day to day HR function across the Museum, providing support and coaching to the Senior Management team to get the maximum potential from their teams.
* To take the lead on projects as directed by the Museum Director that relate to the employed and volunteer workforce and act as an ambassador in promoting The Museum as an employer of staff and volunteers.

Human Resources Manager Requirements:

* Proven HR generalist experience of three to five years
* Graduate calibre and ideally CIPD level 5 qualified or above
* Understanding of managing volunteers
* IT literate (Word, Excel , PowerPoint, Sage, Better Impact, Websites, online learning platforms)
* Solid knowledge of employment legislation and its application
* Proactive team player with strong organisational and problem solving skills
* Experienced in developing and supporting line managers through complex change
* An ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and diplomacy
* Self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team
* Ability to work flexibly to support volunteers and wardens on weekends and bank holidays when required
* Good written, oral and presentation skills
* A high degree of emotional intelligence, resilience and empathy
