Breast Cancer Haven is a dynamic and growing organisation committed to providing the best possible help to people affected by breast cancer.
Breast Cancer Haven Wessex is one of six Breast Cancer Havens who specialise in clinical support, fundraising, marketing and communications and administration. Working for them can be both challenging and extremely rewarding.
At Titchfield they offer advice on practical things like money and work, help combatting stress, exhaustion and nausea, advice on healthy eating and exercise. And above all, there is someone a patient can talk to about their deepest fears.
They have trained professional nurses, therapists, counsellors and advisers listen to the patient's individual concerns and give them all the practical, emotional and physical support they need in a tailor-made package.
They offer a varied programme of weekly exercise classes, talks, workshops and courses.
The support they offer is free of charge and available in a centre- which is as far away from a hospital environment as you can imagine.
Reporting into the Fundraising Manager they require a Community Fundraising Officer. The role is permanent and based in Titchfield near Fareham. Its full time 35 hours per week role 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend working is required and there may be on occasions travel to other BCH centres from time to time.
You will develop, embed and strengthen Breast Cancer Haven's community fundraising activity with particular focus on increasing income from community campaigns, running events, third party fundraisers and small local businesses.

Key Features of the Role:
Promote and implement a range of fundraising events and community fundraising initiatives.
Recruit and support a network of supporters that carry out their own fundraising for Breast Cancer Haven
Grow, develop and manage seasonal and planned national fundraising campaigns at a local level including breast cancer awareness month, The Big Tea Cosy and Christmas
Manage runs (London Marathon, Southampton Marathon, Great South Run etc) and market to potential participants to ensure the events are full and fundraising targets are met
Stewardship of high value third party fundraisers/committees such as Portsmouth Players. Working alongside the Wessex Fundraising Manager and the Events Fundraiser to build on existing relationships.
Increase support from the local community with specific focus on encouraging Breast Cancer Haven's visitors to fundraise on our behalf and working with small businesses to develop staff fundraising initiatives or corporate leads in conjunction with the Corporate Fundraising Officer.
With the Fundraising Assistant co-ordinate applications for local funding schemes including Waitrose Community Matters and Asda Green tokens
Manage bucket collections and collection tins, maximising every opportunity and recruiting volunteers to assist.
Source, manage and develop relationships with event sponsors, advertisers and donors of prizes
