Teaching Personnel are becoming increasingly busy in the Portsmouth area to supply schools with cover teachers in the absence of their usual staff. If you are looking to pursue a career in teaching and wish to gain greater experience in the education sector - this role could be right for you!

What can you expect from a days work?

As a cover supervisor, you will be allocated classes for the day, with the work already prepared. Your role will be to take attendance of the class, and guide them through completing the work which has been left. You can expect to receive support from SLT and the cover team throughout the day ensuring that you have adequate assistance if required. Your role is essential in providing students with the opportunity to continue their learning whilst allowing you the opportunity to sharpen up your teaching skills and build upon your CV.

What experience do you need to apply?

Ideally you will have experience within a secondary school setting. Alternately those with experience in sports coaching, youth work, support work and tuition often are able to transfer their skills into an education. It is desirable that you have studied at University or are currently studying, although applications will be considered from exceptional candidates who are education to A level/GCSE level.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
