Are you an Operations Manager with exceptional man management experience, ideally in a repair/ manufacturing environment of medical devices?

If so, STERIS IMS Ltd are looking for an Operations Manager to join their team based in Hoddesdon.

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the facility, managing all operational areas of the site and taking responsibility for all operational and admin staff. The facility repairs and manufactures medical devices so relevant industry experience, qualifications and training is essential.

About You

Training/qualifications in H&S, COSHH, Fire Safety, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment, Managing People and Financial awareness
Substantial experience working in a repair/ manufacturing environment
Demonstrable Management & People Management/Development experience
Awareness of quality systems and auditing procedures
Awareness of legislation relating to the repair of re-usable medical devices
Ability to understand, interpret and resolve highly complex repair contracts
Interpersonal, influencing, negotiating and leadership skills
Influence and facilitate problem solving and decision-making processes
Computer literate – competent user of MS Word and MS Excel
Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
Full clean driving licence

The Job

To be responsible for the day to day running of the facility
To monitor/control the use of capital equipment within performance/ efficiency measures
To assume prime site responsibility for all Health and Safety Policy issues
To act as site Fire Controller
To proactively lead all staff putting forward suggestions for continuous improvement, innovation and corrective actions and ensuring implementation as appropriate
To monitor/ensure compliance to company quality and regulatory guidelines/procedures
To effectively control and manage the planned maintenance of the premises
To effectively plan all production to the agreed specification to meet customer requirements
To actively monitor absence levels of staff maintaining and analysing data as appropriate, communicating with Lab Manager/ Supervisors and members of staff, interviewing staff as required and referring employees to the Company Medical Advisor as required.
To coach, support and guide all staff in line with Performance Management policies
To agree appropriate financial parameters and budgets in adherence to financial targets
To lead and actively promote participation in all Company communications initiatives
To participate in Marketing meetings and suggest ideas on Promotions
To support the Director on new product lines and gaps in the market
