Controls & Systems Integration Engineer - Peterborough - Initial 12 month contract - up to £40 per hour (limited or umbrella company contract basis) Key Responsibilities of the Controls & Systems Integration Engineer: Support the development of new control approaches and systems integration processes within the Energy and Transportation Research team Build, validate and optimise Controls Orientated Models across multiple execution platforms Development of embedded controls architectures, interfaces and physical test and simulation tools, within wider end to end controls system and powertrain development process. Work with multi-disciplinary teams to support continuous improvement of embedded controls and powertrain development process Validation of implemented code through SiL, HiL, on test bench and with-in demonstrator applications Key skills & Competencies required of the Controls & Systems Integration Engineer: Requires an accredited engineering degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience and excellent analytical skills, a higher-level degree would be advantageous. Demonstrate the ability to interpret data, identify quality issues and understand performance interactions Have a high level of competency in the use of data-analysis tools (e.g. Excel, Minitab, Matlab/Simulink etc.) Have the potential to develop or improve analysis tools Understand requirements of embedded controls models, HiL and Hierarchical Model Interface (HMI) methods Understand underlying theoretical principles of embedded control systems Demonstrate knowledge of implementation of control strategies into production systems Be familiar with modelling of complex systems, including at least some of: Physics based differential and difference based systems, empirical modelling, system or parameter identification To apply, please send a copy of your up to date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
