Recruitment Hunters are recruiting for a Learning Designer for their large international educational client based in Cambridge the role could also be home based - (This role is a mixture of Learning Design & Marketing, applicants should ideally come from the Education Sector)

Role Overview: Learning Designer

The job holder will support the Marketing and Communications strategies of two academic brands for the rapidly expanding international educational client. The main emphasis being around designing & development of both large and small creative briefs to a high standard, across multiple channels and platforms.

The post-holder will be responsible for the learning design of online modules/programmes and short courses. With experience and expertise in developing and implementing learning designs and strategies, the post-holder will bring enthusiasm, initiative and a focus on delivering high quality learning experiences.

Working daily with Learning Design, Marketing & Web Development teams and in very close collaboration with the academic staff who produce academic content, the Learning Designer is responsible for the detailed learning design and story boarding of individual weeks, units, modules and short courses, and will contribute to the ongoing development of our pedagogical framework for effective teaching and learning.

Main Responsibilities: Learning Designer

* Design and edit documents for print and screen, based on each educational unit Brand guidelines.

* Support Brand teams in the creation and maintenance of their Brand guidelines

* Build documents in Adobe CS applications (for professional print) and MS Office (for use by staff at their desktops).

* Undertake design jobs from start to finish.

* Articulate ideas visually, with supporting verbal/written case

* Discuss and agree design brief and schedule with brand teams and other stakeholders

* Research concepts and options for materials, processes, and technologies.

* Handle resistance and objections effectively.

* Produce accurate proofs, process authors’ amends, pre-flight and output press-ready artwork.

* Work in a wide range of formats and media, from standard A-sizes brochures through to large format printing, merchandising materials and 3D projects such as interiors.

* Communicate in a way that accommodates clients’ differing levels of creativity, and IT and design/print understanding and skills.


* Work with in-market staff to ‘localise’ materials where required

* Undertake any other duties commensurate with the status of the post, as deemed necessary by the Head of Marketing

* Create style tile and lead visual ideation for campaigns Lead on visual competitor research

* Lead on visual market research

* Creating responsive, digitally strong web pages.

* Manage feedback and approval process

Experience Required: Learning Designer


* Qualification in design, or equivalent experience (Design or Marketing Graduate) (Essential)

* Educational Sector Background (Higher Education/College/University) (Essential)

* 3 – 5 Years Experience in a similar Learning Designer post (Essential)

* A passion for high-quality design and a keen eye for typographic detail

* Good written and oral communication skills required to understand customers' needs and deliver the best for them in terms of creativity

* The ability to manage their own projects to meet deadlines

* Experience using industry standard applications, including Adobe DreamWeaver, Fireworks, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, Adobe Muse, Adobe Animate, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Adobe Character Animator

* Experience of working in HTML

* Sound knowledge of and strong commitment to web standards, website accessibility and usability Experience in building documents in MS Office (for use by staff at their desktops)

* Experience in preparing documents for print

This is a full time Mat cover role for a Learning Designer. The firm are offering a salary of between £25,000 - £30,000 negotiable pa depending on experience & company benefits. Home Based
