Excellent Opportunity- No weekends- Reading We are looking for a Permit Officer for a long contract, circa 4 years to working in a large site. You will be required to undertake at  no cost to you  a pre-placement Drugs and Alcohol Test together with Standard Disclosure Criminal record check. 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday 07:30 to 17:00 hrs. Job Types: Full-time, Temporary, Contract Salary: £20 per /hour General Responsibilities You are responsible to your Manager stated above for the execution of your individual job responsibilities. You shall: Control ME&I works from the Permit office Provide “front of house” services from the Permit office Issuing and sign back of specific permits on site. Maintain and promote high personal standards in Environment, Safety, Health, Security and Quality. Ensure the agreed records and documentation are produced and maintained to demonstrate compliance to relevant quality, performance, standards and legislation. Your main Duties & Responsibilities would be: Ensure compliance with security, quality, environment safety and health requirements for all work being undertaken. Provide a work control service, permitting work by competent persons under an appropriate safe method of work in accordance with an agreed plan and work authorisation in conjunction to LC12. (Dully authorised and other suitably qualified and experience persons) Contribute to the scheduling and de-confliction of work activities and to the formal opening and closing of the project construction site in conjunction with LC9 (Instruction to persons on the site.) Carry out routine checks and operates record keeping systems associated with work control, inspections, facility status logs, site status etc. Ensure emergency response procedures as laid out in the facility emergency response plan are adhered and compliance with LC11 (Emergency Arrangements) The safety of staff/contractors within the area of accountability. Actively committed to safety & maintaining a culture of zero accidents or incidents relating to occupational & personnel safety, security, health issues, & environmental matters within areas of accountability. Communicating to employees & contractors the importance of meeting customer, statutory, regulatory & internal requirements. Organise the review of Work Authorisation Forms (WAF) & the safe systems of work (SSoW), to ensure that risk associated with the work has been assessed, the appropriate limits, conditions and precautions are prescribed & tat the work s correctly planned & authorised. Maintain records of work being performed. Control & co-ordination of work & informing relevant persons that work is to take place.
