Year 6 Teaching Assistant – Blackburn

Job Type: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

Salary: �9.50 - �11.50 per hour

Start date: Tuesday 3rd September 2019

End date: Friday 24th July 2020

A school located within the Blackburn area are currently seeking a Year 6 Teaching Assistant to start on a full time basis in September 2019. You will be working alongside the very experienced Class Teacher within the Year 6 Class. You would be expected to deliver high quality Maths and English interventions in order to raise the children’s attainment gearing up for the Year 6 SATs. The class is made up of 28 children and the majority of the children are working inline with the age related expectation. In preparation for the SATs you may be working with targeted groups of children that are working towards National expectations.

The school is a two form entry Primary school with a mixed catchment area of mainly white British heritage children and Asian heritage. I have spoken directly with the Headteacher who is very approachable and has strong links with other schools in Blackburn and the surrounding areas. The funding will stretch until the end of the Academic Year with the possibility of going onto a school contract depending on feedback/performance & availability. If you have experience as a general Teaching Assistant specifically working with children in Key Stage 2 we want to hear from you!
