We are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join the team based at our Walpole Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant.

The Role:

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the day to day mechanical and electrical (M&E) maintenance at Walpole AD Plant; as well as the maintenance of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) units at the AD Plant. You'll work autonomously as well as part of a team undertaking essential routine and non-routine maintenance.

You will assist the Lead Engineer to optimise the ongoing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) strategy at the AD Plant, ensuring that all planned maintenance is completed on time and to the manufacturer's specification. You'll also assist the site management to ensure that all works are planned, scheduled and undertaken whilst maintaining Health and Safety compliance.

The Maintenance Engineer will respond to all unplanned plant breakdowns and instigate appropriate actions as required, accurately recording all maintenance activities and plant downtime using the site's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Additionally, the post holder will help optimise the CHP Plant to ensure that heat and electricity supply to the AD Plant is maximised at all times; and mentor new engineering technicians and apprentices as necessary.

Our ideal Maintenance Engineer will have:

- Extensive planed preventative maintenance experience
- Proven experience of Electrical and Mechanical fault finding
- At least a completed Mechanical / Electrical apprenticeship or equivalent
- An excellent understanding of the operation and maintenance of process plant including CHP
- Ability to work to deadlines and constantly juggle priorities
- A demonstrable knowledge of process plants dealing with liquids and sludge
- Knowledge of CMMS
- Full driving licence
