Are you looking for a flexible working role supporting children with Special Educational Needs?

The School;
Our Ofsted 'Good' rated Roman Catholic school is looking for Teaching Assistants to work on a full time or part time basis, supporting their students with additional needs. The school is based in the Trafford area and is easily accessible for drivers by the M60 and has good transport links for non-drivers.

The Role;
As a Teaching Assistant, you may work with a small group of children or on a 1:1 basis depending on the needs of the student you are working with.
In the classroom, you are expected to support the teacher in managing behaviour, ensuring engagement and inclusion in all activities and promoting enjoyment in education. You will also be responsible for assisting with any personal needs of the students such as personal care (toileting) and mobility needs as some students may use wheelchairs or struggle with fine motor skills (writing).
Some students may attend therapies or 1:1 sessions which you may be required to attend if you are supporting the student at the time.
The role will be a temporary contract until the summer, with potential to become a longer term contract or permanent in the new school year.

Requirements;
Ideally we prefer candidates to have some experience in the classroom and/or SEN, however we are happy to consider all candidates with the right attitude toward the role.
You are expected to be patient, caring and enthusiastic, whilst always being non-judgemental to help promote confidence in the students and in turn, develop their independence.
Other requirements are:

* Ability to work between the hours of 8.30am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, full time or part time
* Happy to manage behaviour and personal care needs
* An enhanced, child only DBS on the update service (which can be applied for via Teaching Personnel)
Bonus qualities include:
* Training in areas such as Autism Awareness, Moving and Handling and Team Teach
* Knowledge of BSL, Makaton, PECS, Phonics, Sensory Therapy, Lego Therapy or similar

* Weekly pay of the living wage, through a PAYE scheme
* Exclusive access to opportunities in other schools in Greater Manchester
* Online Portal to organise Payslips, Time sheets and Diary management
