WORKING HOURS: 42 hours Full Time – 4 on 4 off pattern (consisting of 2 days and 2 nights)

Our client is looking for Engineering Operator Technician’s to join their brewery in Magor.

From Budweiser and Corona to Hoegaarden and Stella Artois – our client produce some of the biggest beer brands in the world and now, due to a recent exciting company restructure, are looking to appoint Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Technicians / Mechanical & Electrical Engineers 
As an Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Technicians / Mechanical & Electrical Engineers you’ll be responsible for maintenance including undertaking, driving and supporting maintenance and improvement activities and procedures. Further duties will include

Key Responsibilities for the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Technicians / Mechanical & Electrical Engineers role include :-

- Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities
- Reviewing and developing safety and maintenance procedures. Ensuring that all safety systems are in working order
- Machinery fault diagnosis and repairs including liaising with suppliers of OEM’s for the provision of spares/services. Carrying out quality inspections on jobs
- Writing, reviewing and updating maintenance Standard Operating Procedure’s, One Point Lesson’s & job tasks
- Identifying critical spares for designated machines and refurbish spares as required
- Use of Plant Optimisation tools to ensure sustainability of high departmental standards including 5S, Hygiene and Problem Solving
- Developing Standard Operating Procedure’s and learning documents to share best practice with respect to maintenance 
- Maintenance prioritisation, planning and machine analysis to improve performance
- Complete work at heights, confined spaces and as a lone worker
- Liaising and assisting client departments and customers
- Monitoring and controlling maintenance costs, tools, stores and equipment

THE CANDIDATE: Dependent on which role you are applying for, successful candidates will need to either come from an Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering background with experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment and will have completed an apprenticeship, hold a recognised qualification such as a HNC or NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) however, time served Engineers qualified by experience will also be considered. In addition to having previous relevant experience candidates will have an understanding of LEAN, Continuous Improvements, HACCP, Food Safety protocols, be reliable and take ownership of their work and also take pride in their work. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, interacting effectively with a variety of departments and individuals and will have strong organisation skills with a structured and systematic approach, adhering to deadlines, and someone
who is able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload effectively. Candidates are strongly advised to live within commutable distance to Magor (Newport), South Wales (commutable from Cardiff & Bristol) and have a Driving Licence and use of their own vehicle. 

Key Experience / Characteristics preferred for the Electrical & Mechanical Engineering Technicians / Mechanical & Electrical Engineers role :-

- Recognised apprenticeship, HNC, NVQ3 or equivalent electrical or mechanical engineering qualification
- Proven fault finding and maintenance of high speed production equipment
- Ability to analyse numerical information and will need to be IT Literate
- Experience in fast paced manufacturing environment
- Experience in a multi-disciplined engineering role
- Will need a Driving Licence and be able to commute to Magor (Newport), South Wales (commutable from Cardiff & Bristol)
