My client is looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to join their team in London.

Requirements will include;

Ideally a Chartered Civil Engineer with bachelor degree as minimum
Drainage Engineer Consultancy experience on large, complex infrastructure projects
Substantial design experience in drainage engineering on rural and urban road drainage and waterways projects, and experience in participating in feasibility studies, master plans and detailed designs in the UK

Duties & Responsibilities will include;

�Support and management of a development, design and construction process
�Reviewing technical submissions from designers relating to drainage
�Help develop scope and services for package orders for contracts relating to drainage engineering
�Contribute to identifying and managing technical risk for drainage works
�Act as drainage expert with both the internal engineering teams and external stakeholders
�Undertake and lead assignments in the UK and overseas, as directed
�Assisting in the planning and organisation of resources, to maximise fee income and utilisation
�Adopt procedures for standardisation of work products and deliverables, and peer review to ensure consistency and excellence in service delivery of the Company’s technical work product
�Implement and adhere to Company procedures in the management, delivery and administration of Services
�Assist Market Sector Leaders to source and develop business opportunities, producing tenders, and build client relationships
�Maintain strong relationships with other disciplines within the Company
�Assisting with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of ‘Best Practice’ and procedures
�Embrace organisational change and influence others to modify behaviour and attitudes as required
�Have an understanding and awareness of the Company values and business plan and your contribution to both
�Observe and maintain Company Health and Safety Policy across all activities
�Undertake other reasonable duties as requested

Key Experience & Qualifications;

�Chartered Civil Engineer with substantial experience in drainage design on UK road projects, at all levels
�Sound working knowledge of relevant national and international road drainage related standards (e.g. DMRB and AASHTO), contracts (e.g. ICR, NEC & FIDIC), methodologies and procedures including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
�Hydrology/catchment assessment experience
�Road drainage hydraulic design experience
�Transverse drainage/culverts hydraulic design experience
�Flood risk assessment experience, particularly with regards to road projects
�Proficient in the use of Microdrainage or similar modelling package
�Proficient in the use of HEC-RAS or similar modelling package
�Site experience advantageous
�Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or road design packages advantageous
�Experience in large scale (c.�100m+), high profile infrastructure projects as well in small development projects, for a range of UK and international Clients in various construction market sectors
�Ability to build, maintain and develop relationships with clients
�Ability to identify appropriate opportunities and prioritise efforts in securing these opportunities to achieve targets
