About the Company:

Carter Jonas LLP is a leading UK property consultancy seeking a Human Resources Advisor to join its existing HR team in Winchester city centre on a temporary basis to cover a period of maternity leave.

With a network of 34 offices across England and Wales, we employ more than 800 partners and staff. We help our clients sell, let, manage and add value to their properties, whether they be residential homes, farms and estates, development land, offices, industrial or retail buildings.

You will be responsible for offering advice on aspects of people management with the support of the HR Manager as well as supporting relevant administration. You will assist and advise line managers in accordance with HR policy to ensure they have information to enable them to manage performance, advise on employee relations and changes to terms and conditions of employment.

In addition, you will also support the HR team with data queries and also Partnership administration and offer paperwork, therefore a good working knowledge of Microsoft office packages, including Excel is essential for this role.

HR Advisor Responsibilities:

* Managing the administration of and offering advice on all aspects of people management issues with the support of the HR Manager and Head of Human Resources. Advising, and assisting line Managers in accordance with HR policy and procedures
* Hold regular meetings with managers to support, coach and advise with regards to the people requirements of their work areas.
* Assist the Head of HR and Learning & Development Coordinator with mapping skills and competencies across the job descriptions
* Work with and mentor other HR colleagues to provide a flexible and positive approach enabling the HR team to deliver excellence
* Working closely with the Head of HR in the implementation of HR policies and strategies
* Coach managers on HR policies and procedures
* Ensure policies are up-to-date in accordance with current employment legislation
* Assist with preparation for meetings
* Producing general correspondence from HR department
* Work closely with payroll and IT to ensure all new starter and leaver information is fully captured
* Maintain hardcopy HR Partner and Consultant files
* Maintain and update Employee Handbook
* Maintain HR Intranet Site 'The Loop'

HR Advisor Requirements:

* The successful applicant will be resilient, confident and outgoing
* Experience of managing employee relations is essential although full support would be provided
* You must be comfortable with multi-tasking and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Regular travel to regional offices across the UK by car or train will be required
