PSV Engineer – Rotating Shift

Salary: �40,000 plus overtime

Location: Croydon / Mitcham / Bromley / Epsom / Surry

The Company

Our client, who provide bus and train services in 14 different countries are currently looking for skilled PSV engineers to join their busy team in Dartford on a rotating shift pattern.

Engineers are an essential part of the team who ensure that all vehicles are in a safe and roadworthy condition for their customers. People are our priority; being on time every time means that our customers will travel with us time after time.

With more than 4,000 buses to be maintained and kept clean across their various operating companies, the engineering departments are fundamental to the smooth operation of our business.

There is also an opportunity for further training and promotion; in fact, the majority of our engineering management team were once bus mechanics themselves.

The Role of a PSV Engineer

* To carry out repairs and diagnostics on vehicles as required.
* To fully comply with all Health and Safety & Environmental legislation.
* To communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
* Maintain/develop technical skills and to attend training courses as required by the company.
* Diagnosis and repair of the company vehicles, prepare vehicles for annual test and attend breakdowns as required.
* Processing vehicle defect cards and all legal paperwork in line with the company and DVSA guidelines.
* To adhere to good housekeeping practices, ensuring all tools and equipment are returned to their designated place.

Skills & Experience

* NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds Level 2/3.
* IRTEC Certified preferred but not essential
* To be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment.
* Must be in the possession of, or capable of obtaining a full PCV licence.
* Good communication skills.
* Exceptional organisational skills.
