Hire Controller - based Addlestone

Salary: Competitive based upon experience and skills

The company

Our client are the leading independent tool and plant Hire Company in the area serving both domestic and commercial customers .With a large selection of all the latest equipment they are able to deliver the highest level of service in the tool and plant hire business .They are able to serve all of Surrey, London and the Home Counties .They specialise in the hire of mini-diggers and skip loading dumpers as well as having a large stock of alloy access towers and scaffolding equipment.

The Role

As the Hire Controller you will deal with clients from the initial inquiry stages through to quotation, follow up, processing of the hire orders and transport to our site. Other duties include:

- Communicating with customers in the shop, on the phone and via email
- Taking and processing orders for tools and plant hires
- Learning about new products and have a basic understanding of the range of products
- Processing tool and PPE sales
- Ordering sales stock
- Liaising with staff members, customers and suppliers
- Stocking and maintaining sales goods
- Potentially delivering equipment at busy times
- Partaking in training courses as necessary, possibly in own time
- Keeping work environment clean and tidy
- Partaking in promotional events
- Assisting with other tasks and depots if required

Requirements for the Hire Controller

- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to learn about new products and understanding the basics of them, and be aware of competitor information
- High regard to customer satisfaction
- Able to meet deadlines, plan and prioritise workloads, working well under pressure
- A high level of accuracy is essential, seeking clarity when required and taking responsibility for own work
- Have a good knowledge of IT systems
- Must be a good team player and able to work well under own initiative

Monday to Friday 7.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday 8.00am to 12.30am

Essential Requirements

Applicant must be over 21 (for insurance purposes)
- Clean and full driving license (preferred)
- Previous experience of plant industry is preferred but training can be given

Key Skills

Experienced in the hire business is beneficial, quick thinking and problem solving, good communication both internally and externally, and completion of required paperwork
