Location: Sunderland

Salary: �10.50 - �11.00 per hour

Hours: 18 hours per week, Flexibility on evenings & weekends required.

Responsibilities of the Male Care & Support Worker role

* Care & Support Worker required to provide support and personal care to a 22-year-old male with an acquired brain injury, living in his family home in the Sunderland area.
* The individual suffers cognitive impairment and limited mobility requiring support with all activities of daily living.
* The role will involve enabling the client to engage in rehabilitation, social and recreational activities, and empowering him to be as independent as possible in the home and in the community.
* Applicants require empathetic approach, skills to provide focus & motivation and engage in therapeutic & community activities, and a high level of commitment to their role.

Requirements of the Male Care & Support Worker

* The client has interests in sport and exercise, cars, socialising with friends and family, applicants with similar interests would be desirable but not essential.
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care, or previous care and support worker experience desirable.
* Driver essential as the role requires the Care Assistant to take the client to and from appointments, activities and social events in the client's own vehicle.
* Moving and handling along with personal care is also an essential part of the job role.

Successful applicants will join a established support programme and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals; the successful applicant will receive support, training and regular supervision
