Description: Our client has a vibrant university hospital providing the best possible care to a population of 230,000 residents across Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Waveney. The Trust employ over 3000 staff and provide a full range of general acute services plus a number of specialised services, with a main hospital boasting circa 500 inpatient beds and a 'good' CQC rating. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join their professional and multi-disciplinary teams. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner within the Acute Team of Dietitians and will provide a clinical dietetic service through the assessment, treatment and management of adult patients. The post holder will be mainly responsible for covering the complex acute gastroenterology and surgical inpatient wards and ICU, particularly in the area of Parenteral Nutrition. This will include providing advanced nutritional and dietetic advice in this specialist area to medical and health care professionals and other agencies. You will also hold a key role in the Hospital's Nutrition Steering Group and contribute to the development of guidelines within the Trust.

The post holder will also provide support in relation to Dietetic education to Medical Students and Junior Doctors which will include undertaking presentations to th ese staff group s , as well as offering mentoring and support to Acute Band 5 Dietitians.

Person Specification: We are looking for a candidate that holds a BSc in Nutrition & Dietetics who has current registration with the HCPC with varied experience on clinical placements. Essential is also experience of dietary management within a defined specialist area, pre-registration dietetic student training, specialist post-registration clinical experience, and experience in developing and appraising junior colleagues.
