Senior Project Manager - Rail / Civils

"An exciting opportunity to take the reigns as Senior Project Manager working for an up and coming rail contractor both on projects and frameworks in the South East."

Location

London

The Company

You will be joining an up and coming Contractor offering specialist Design and Build services to the UK Rail industry. The business was formed by the existing Directors who, having had bright careers working for successful tier one contractors, recognised a gap in the market for a flexible, multi-disciplinary sub-contractor. After quickly establishing themselves as a quality subcontractor in the market space, they were recognised by Network Rail for their achievements and have now obtained Principle Contractor status, which is an outstanding effort for a company of their size (and relative infancy). In turn, they have now been awarded their first (of many more to come) framework, which falls in to CP6 which will kick off later in the year.

About the Job

With clear growth achieved to date, the company is looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery team and project works as the subcontractor of choice on one of London's bustling station improvement projects. The project is set to include multi-disciplinary civils work packages in an operational station environment. Works will include associated civils and temporary works such as canopy bases, lift shafts, excavations, formworks etc. Following this 12-month project, the successful candidate is expected to play a huge role in managing the up-coming and recently awarded, 5year rail civil engineering framework.

The Ideal candidate

To make this role your own, you will have worked as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager with exposure to rail civil engineering works on projects such as station refurbishments, platforms, UTX's, URX's, line side civils etc or similar types of schemes within a Network Rail project or framework environment. You will thrive in this role if you are well versed in Project Management with a track record of successfully leading teams, project scopes and programmes, budget management and dealing directly with Network Rail as the client.

The Requirements

Your experience to date should be demonstrable working as a Project Manager for a main contractor in a similar rail civil engineering project or framework environment with a strong knowledge and understanding of Network Rail standards. You should be a degree qualified Civil Engineer, with experience in rail civils (as mentioned above), design, commercial change management and cost management.

Salary

70,000 - 78,000 per annum + car / car allowance and company benefits package.
