We are now looking for a Prosthetic Technician, to use their skills to repair and manufacture prosthetic limbs, working as an integral part of our specialist Prosthetics team based in Sheffield.

About the Prosthetic Technician:

The Technician supports the smooth running of the service by manufacturing, repairing and adjusting a wide range of prosthetic products, specifically designed to meet the individual patient's needs.

This is a fulfilling and challenging role for a proactive individual who thrives in a customer focussed manufacturing environment, where they process and modify specialist equipment precisely and effectively. We very much welcome applications from experienced technicians who are looking for a new opportunity but due to the unique and specialised nature of the role specific experience in prosthetic manufacturing is highly beneficial, though not essential. You'll also need to be focused and flexible in your approach, and able to operate in a pressured environment. You will be a reliable team worker with excellent communication skills and be able to be trusted to complete tasks accurately and to deadline. You will use these skills to interpret information supplied by clinicians to undertake repairs and adjustments to patient's prostheses using a wide range of appropriate materials and tools. You will liaise with management, clinicians, other technicians and NHS staff to ensure the product meets the patient's individual needs.

The nature of the role is varied so the successful candidate will maintain high standards when working to varying deadlines and when working under pressure.

If you join us as a trainee, you will work closely with your designated mentor, receiving training and guidance, in the core skills and work areas, to enable you to undertake the role effectively and you will work towards completion of relevant training portfolios to demonstrate your abilities.

Benefits of the Prosthetic Technician:

In return, we offer a competitive salary package, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work as part of a highly specialist and experienced team.
