An opportunity has become available for a graduate looking to begin their career after obtaining their degree. This post will take place in a Northampton primary school working as a SEN 1:1 teaching assistant.

A diverse two form entry school recently judged by Ofsted as being good in all areas, is looking for a strong and committed teaching assistant to support the learning of a child with special behavioural needs and autism.

This post will be starting from September and the school are excited to meet graduates with a passion for developing the children within their school.

The Ideal Candidate:

* This post is ideally looking for a male to support the pupil.
* 2:1 degree.
* Passion for education and special needs and aspirations to use the experience for future careers.
* Understanding of the traits and needs of autistic children and a willingness to learn more around the subject.
* Show qualities that can handle responsibility for vulnerable children and work with professionalism within the school.
* A desire for working with children and following the lead of a teacher to support learning – experience with children is a bonus!
* An interest or experience with Psychology, particularly with children.
* Have an individual creativity and can share ideas with their team.

About the Role:

* Being a direct support for a Year 5 boy who has autism and behavioural needs. The role will be supporting him in all his learning and completing small activities with him outside of lessons as well.
* Supporting role within the classroom focusing on carrying out interventions with the specified child.
* Following plans from the class teacher and directing your support to specified children.
* Carrying out small group tasks and directing the task towards the children achieving.
* Occasionally going to work in the specialised autistic unit with children and following their routines.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
