Primary Teaching Assistant - York

A passionate, committed and dedicated Teaching Assistant is required to support students transitioning from EYFS to Key Stage 1 and from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2, in September 2019. If you have either a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification, or at least 12 months experience in an educational or special needs setting, Teaching Personnel would love to hear from you.

The Job Role

Supporting pupils transitioning into the next Key Stage, whether that be with emotional support or academic support. The School looks at a whole person education and are keen for students to progress in their academia, as well as socially and emotionally. As a Teaching Assistant, you will support on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of up to 8 students, working to build relationships to keep them engaged in lessons and with social activities.

Minimum Requirements

* You should hold an Education related Degree, Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification or have at least 12 months experience in an educational or special needs setting
* Be confident to work with pupils with different academic abilities, adapting your approach to managing behaviour
* Have knowledge of the Primary curriculum
* Hold a GCSE at Level 5 (C) or above in Maths and English
* Be a clear communicator with excellent oral and written skills
