Makaton trained SEN teaching assistant - Hounslow - Full time - September start - �60 to �80 per day

Are you an experienced teaching assistant? Trained and experienced using Makaton?

We are currently working closely with a school with a high number of needs within their school, they pride themselves on recruiting subject and training specialised candidates.

The role?

The full time role will be working on a one to one basis with students with autism and speech, language and communication difficulties - utilising your makaton training and experience to help to communicate with the students. Whilst supporting their learning you will be working within a class with student's of a variety of needs. Your day will be split between two students, making it crucial that you are able to adapt to each class and ability.

The school?

Based in Isleworth the school has a diverse and incorporating ethos, educating student's on the importance of social acceptance and appreciating individual differences. With a range of students with special educational needs they have created a strong support network for both student and family/carer. The previous two form entry school has recently down sized, becoming a community based one form entry.

Ideal candidate?

- Makaton trained

- Experienced working with a range of special educational needs

- Able to support students through their occupational therapy sessions and activities

- Experienced keeping records and documenting progress
