Quality Assurer

Location: Waltham Cross, EN8 7RQ

Salary: �25,000 per annum, depending on experience

Hours of Work: Flexibility required with hours of work starting as early at 6am, finishing as late as 8pm. 5 of 7 days to be worked this will include some weekends

Quality Assurer Responsibilities:

* Assure the quality and safety of food in the warehouse from receipt through to dispatch. Monitor and audit warehouse compliance to agreed procedures and policies
* To diligently assess the quality, safety and legality of products against agreed specifications, report and take appropriate actions - quality assessments are detailed and must be clearly measured
* When assigned monitor Inbound quality control
* When assigned monitor quality of stock held
* When assigned positive release product in accordance with customer specifications
* Carry out internal audits of the warehouse environment
* Diligently report and classify all "assessments" using various modes e.g. hand-held devices, hand written reports or email reports to internal team and external stakeholders
* Carry out routine testing of products in accordance with procedures using manual method e.g. size measurement to automated solutions e.g. texture analysis
* Work efficiently and effectively adapting your daily routine to meet the operational requirements of the business
* When assigned to ensure all equipment is calibrated according to the Standard Operating Procedure, and all non-compliances are reported in a timely manner
* To adhere to all controlled procedures as required by the department
* When assigned ensure shelf-life tests are carried out and recorded according to the procedure
* When assigned assess quality and safety of returned product
* When assigned carry out line training of other team members against established procedures e.g. food handling good practice making good decisions and solving problems on a day to day basis, taking ownership and leadership in such situations

Quality Assurer Requirements:

* Knowledge of fresh produce quality attributes (or broader food quality attributes)
* Experienced in internal auditing
* Knowledge of quality control procedures and functions
* Understanding and awareness of food legislation, food quality management systems, 3rd party accreditation standards, HACCP and Food labelling
* High performing communicator across all levels, formal and informal
* Understanding of health and safety procedures on site
* Self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
* Flexible approach with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Microsoft Word and Excel skills
* There is a requirement to work bank holidays
