SEN Teaching Assistant/ABA Tutors

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an Autism Specialist provision in Maidenhead. They have asked us to assist in there search for teaching assistants and tutors for September.

The provision caters for primary and secondary pupils with Autism and associated Learning Disabilities. Experience working with children with Autism in an specialist setting is preferred. Some pupils will be non-verbal and may require specialist communication – Makaton and PEC’s.

The school are looking for Tutors/Teaching Assistants who can work with Teachers and Supervisors during lessons supporting where they are needed or working 1:1 supporting children with statements of Autism across the spectrum.

Successful Tutors and Teaching Assistants must have:

* Experience delivering intervention programmes to pupil 1:1(not essential)
* Understanding and knowledge of Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD
* Relevant experience as SEN support worker, classroom teaching assistant or ABA Tutor
* Behaviour Management Training
* Ability to monitor, observe and report on pupils progress daily
* Have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students
* Experience with PEC’s, Makaton, Sign Language
* Strong Behaviour Management Skills

The provision are looking for staff on a full time (8.30am-14.30pm) basis. The provision have a very good reputation in training staff to develop a career as an Teaching Assistant and Tutor. This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, ABA Specialist or an individual who is resilient, patient and with a genuine passion to support those with additional needs.
