Starting Salary dependent on qualifications & relevant Experience

An opportunity to work in the AONB of the Weald of Sussex, for the shared environmental health service for Rother and Wealden, the main towns being Bexhill-on-Sea, Crowborough, Hailsham, Rye and Uckfield. The successful candidate will work across both districts.

We are looking to appoint a Licensing Officer to support our dedicated Licensing Team. The work involves dealing with licensing applications that the Council receive, investigating issues relating to licensed activities and premises and taking appropriate formal and informal action to ensure that public safety is protected. The role is interesting and varied and you need to have excellent communication and customer care skills as you will be dealing directly with the general public and working with a range of licensees. You will also need to work closely with other colleagues involved in public safety and protection both within and outside the Council.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, work well on their own as well as with other team members, be self-motivated and committed to the protection of public health and safety. You would be committed to continuous professional development. Training will be supported as required. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected including participation in the Council’s summer noise patrol.
