Assistant Group Accountant

Location: Basingstoke

Hours of Work: 9am-5.15pm

Assistant Group Accountant Responsibilities:

* To act within the Group Financial Reporting and Control team, assisting with and owning a variety of processes to facilitate the Group's monthly and annual statutory results reporting, preparation of annual accounts and control of key group cost centres.
* Ensure key steps in the consolidation of the group's results are performed accurately and in line with monthly reporting timetables including intercompany matching and calculation of unrealised profit in stock.
* Assist with preparation and analysis of the group's statutory reporting obligations to the companies Limited (shareholder).
* Act as a key interface between the companies finance teams.
* Act as financial accountant for ERP implementation project (Project Echo) responsible for monitoring and reporting of costs incurred, comparison against budget and forecasting.
* Support Project Echo senior management with ad hoc finance tasks and projects.
* Ensure that Project Echo costs are capitalised in line with IFRS
* Preparation of statutory accounts for UK holding companies
* Assistance with technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition procedures.
* Assisting the Group Finance Manager with various ad hoc tasks and projects.
* Management of group compliance software (Monday.com).
* Management of group expense software (Concur).

Assistant Group Accountant Requirements:

* 2+ years extensive hands on experience in group finance role.
* Strong systems/process background; working knowledge of HFM is desirable.
* Experience of working in a pressured environment.
* English speaker; Japanese language skills would be a bonus.
* Working towards professional qualification.
* Ability to interact with senior management across the business
* Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards
* Team player, relationship building approach;
* Highly self-motivated and directed;
* High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately;
* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work under pressure and deliver results;
* Good IT skills, particularly Excel;
* Experience of working in a multinational company-Beneficial.
