Fundraising Officer - London SE1

Contract - Permanent

Operational Area - You will be required to work, at different times from all our offices across the South East. At times you will be required to travel on business to carry out your duties at other locations.

My Clients are an environmental regeneration charity that works with communities across the South of England to create better places to live and work in a greener, more sustainable way and to improve their economic prospects..

The Role and your Responsibilities:

The Fundraising Officer supports the generation of income, principally for my Clients activities across the South of England. The role works closely with development colleagues and delivery staff to help identify income sources, approach funders and partners, develop and write bids. And contribute towards income targets.

The main income generation and specialism and target of this role is charitable trusts and foundation grants. As part of a growing development team, the Fundraising Officer will also assist as required with the submission of formal tenders, bids and framework submissions. You will need to write high quality applications to funding bodies such as charitable trusts. BIG Lottery, local and regional funding sources as required.

Manage a constant portfolio of projects requiring funding, working closely with colleagues to develop individual project action plans to resolve funding gaps and meet overall team targets.

You will also need to identify suitable sources of charitable trusts and foundation funding for projects and programmes of activity and monitor the external funding environment, alerting colleagues to appropriate new sources as required.

You will work with the Senior Fundraising Officer and other fundraising and development team staff to develop fundraising strategies and actions.

Prepare and write fundraising proposals to grant making trusts and foundations.

Prepare and write large bids such as Big Lottery Applications.

Share good practice with colleagues.

Monitor and prepare regular reports as required for Fundraising meetings.

Adheres to all the policies and procedures of the organisation.

Commit to continual professional development and undertake any training and development deemed necessary to fulfil criteria of role.

Any other duties commensurate with the post.

Requirements:

Excellent communication skills

A team player

A successful track record of achieving grant funding from trusts, foundations, lottery distributors or similar.

Genuine interest, enthusiasm and dedication to fundraising work.

High level computer literacy, knowledge MS office/word/excel and emailing etc.

Confidence in writing creative and compelling proposals for targeted fundraisers

Excellent relationship building skills and experience of line managing staff.

An ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise multiple tasks.

An ability to take the initiative in identifying and proactively developing new Fundraising and Development Opportunities.

An interest/passion for creating greener, more sustainable communities.
