Shifts - Double Days (6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm)

The Company

Our client specialise in manufacturer of ultra precision parts for the automotive, aerospace and computing industries. Producing over half a billion parts per year, their custom built facility in Birmingham can handle anything from one off single part projects to high volume orders running into the thousands per batch.

Their manufacturing facility consists of fully automated photo and chemical etching systems, along with a brand new CNC shop all controlled by a state of the art Networked SCADA system. Thanks to continued they now require an additional Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join their well established team.

The Role

The Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will be expected to perform both Reactive Breakdown Maintenance tasks. Due to the nature of the manufacturing process the work would be biased towards reactive breakdown work, however these would be done in between Planned Preventative Maintenance work.

The Maintenance Department have a fully computerised, self-managing maintenance planning system that prioritises both breakdowns and PPMs depending on urgency of the job. Upon finishing a job, a new job would be automatically issued by the PPM system.

Day to day the hands on work would be slightly more biased towards electrical work, however the successful candidate needs to be just as confidence on Mechanical systems too.

Electrically the Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer will need to be able to fault find using a multimeter against electrical drawings on single, three phase and control voltages, changing inputs and outputs and perform safe isolations. Candidates do not need to be able to interrogate PLC or SCADA systems as this is something that can be taught.

Mechanically, candidates will need to be able to fault find and repair pneumatics, bearings, rollers, pumps, compressors, cams, solenoids, guillotines, punches, presses and shears.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:

* Must have previous experience working as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer.
* Must have worked on automated or semi automated machinery.
* Must have a recognised Electrical Qualification or Apprenticeship.

The company have excellent training facilities on site which allows them to offer tailored development to all of their staff. In the case of this role, the business can offer full PLC and SCADA training to the successful applicant.
