Fantastic award-winning Gastro Pub based near Crowborough in East Sussex looking for a passionate Junior Sous Chef to join their successful permanent kitchen team, genuine fresh food and creative menu environment.
The Company has gone and done it again and won another foodservice award, to add to their other important accolades, which they are immensely proud to have received, and which is down to their genuine hard working and trusted kitchen teams across their 8 venues.
Each venue offers the gastro pub classics at the core of its menu, however the opportunity to bring in creative, new modern or classic menu items with influence from around the world is actively encouraged.

Each venue works with locally sourced fresh food, offering a range of menu items with various cuisine influences, with some venues offering distinct smoked items at reasonable prices.
The Company will offer you a genuine award-winning venue for you to be nurtured and developed, with the support of the experienced onsite Chefs and the trusted Roving Chef team.

Key Features of the Role:
The successful Junior Sous Chef will be able to carry out the following responsibilities and tasks, and be trusted to produce good quality menu items, which you can be proud to serve.
Part of a multi-award-winning gastro pub team, lending your positive attitude and aptitude to boost the brigade's ability to produce food it can be proud of and worthy of its reputation and award-winning accolades.
All food is prepared on site using the best ingredients, using carefully sourced suppliers, so you will need to treat each dish created with the same level of respect and passion.
Assisting the Head Chef and the team in all aspects of the kitchen, including training, gross profit margins, stock control and hygiene.
Working full time 5 days per week as a Junior Sous Chef, covering straight and split shift work patterns as the kitchen team requires.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
To be successful in this role you will need to be an accomplished Junior Sous Chef.
Worked in a similar Gastro Pub or restaurant-based environment full time, and able to work both straight and split shifts in a busy kitchen environment.
Either professional catering qualification or certificates would be ideal, however proven employment tenures and career development will be considered as an alternative.
You must have your own transport to get to the venue, as there is no reliable public transport links and no live in available.
Experience in a fresh food or award winning would be ideal, however consideration will be given to Cooks and Chefs wanting to make the step up from frozen food service.
You must have a passionate attitude and be able to show a positive aptitude in the kitchen, as you may be asked to step outside of your comfort zone, to learn new dishes, techniques and cuisine influences.

What's on Offer?
The Junior Sous Chef role will offer a basic salary ranging from �20K - �22K basic salary + Tips (on average �80 per week) + Staff Loyalty Bonus Scheme.
Full time permanent working hours of 45 per week, 5 days per week, 28 days holiday.
