Working for a growing technology company on their managed service technical support desk, the 3rd Line Service Desk Engineer / Tech Lead will be responsible for providing specialist service desk support to the external customer base at 3rd line support level. There will also be an expectation to help cover any overflow on the 1st/2nd line level, however only as a small part of the role. This role will also be acting as the “Technical Lead”, helping with managing the wider technical support team on a daily basis and providing technical leadership for the support team. The technical environment will be focusing across Microsoft Cloud Technologies including Windows Server, Office 365, Active Directory and Exchange, with exposure to cloud technologies across Azure IaaS, Exchange Online & SharePoint Online.

This role would offer natural progression into more of a “Manager” position, or more into a Technical Consultant, over time depending upon the direction the successful candidate wished to move into.

Team leadership experience isn’t essential for this position, though highly desirable. The successful 3rd Line Engineer / Service Desk Engineer will have experience operating in a “senior” capacity where they are helping to mentor & coach junior staff. The company feel this experience would be a good platform to step up into a Team Leader capacity.

The company will offer training & certifications for learning & development, and progression opportunities as they continue to grow. This will include some opportunities to get involved in project work for their customers.

Required Skills:

- Excellent Service Desk / Helpdesk support experience

- Either experience of Team Leadership, or experience of mentoring & coaching in a “senior” capacity

- Strong 3rd Line support experience

- Strong experience of working for a technology organisation / Managed Service Provider

- Strong experience of supporting Windows Server technologies, Exchange, Active Directory and Office 365

- Experience of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, vLANs, VPN and Firewalls

- Good experience of Windows 10

- Ideally good Microsoft Cloud experience across Azure IaaS, Exchange Online & SharePoint Online

- Excellent communication & stakeholder management experience

This position would suit a 3rd Line Engineer / 3rd Line Support Analyst / Service Desk Engineer / Service Desk Analyst / Technical Lead / Support Team Leader / Technical Support Engineer / Senior Support Engineer / Senior Support Analyst / Support Analyst / 3rd Line Support Engineer / Helpdesk Engineer / Service Desk Analyst / Helpdesk Engineer / Service Desk Engineer, who has strong experience of 2nd Line & 3rd Line Service Desk support and “lead/senior” experience across Windows Server, Office 365, Exchange and Active Directory.

This 3rd Line Support Engineer / Team Lead position is looking to start ASAP, will be based in Basingstoke and will be paying from �35,000 - �50,000 depending upon background and experience.
