About Us

We are currently looking for an exceptional Lead Activities Co-Ordinator to join our luxury Nursing Home within Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands. This position is full time, and we welcome interest from experienced Activities Co-Ordinators who are keen to further develop our activities programme, and provide leadership and support to our existing team. The successful candidate will earn �10.00 to �11.50 per hour dependant on experience, with excellent training and development opportunities.

Wyndley Grange Nursing Home is located within a beautiful lakeside setting on the edge of Sutton Park Nature Reserve. It is an established family run business, with a genuine passion and commitment to providing a high standard of nursing care. We offer a range of caring services for all our residents including nursing, dementia, respite and end of life care. Our 64 bedded Nursing Home is rated Good in all 5 areas by the CQC, and we consistently strive to achieve Outstanding.

We fully understand the importance of providing a stimulating and varied programme of leisure activities and social events for all our residents to enjoy, and the positive impact this has on their quality of care and sense of wellbeing. As Lead Activities Co-Ordinator you will have the autonomy and support to make this happen.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take responsibility for ensuring all residents are supported to maintain and enjoy an active and independent lifestyle as possible
* Act as a role model to our Activities Co-Ordinators providing leadership, support and direction, ensuring all activities are consistently delivered to a high standard
* Ensure that all residents have an individualised activity plan based on their interests, abilities and life experience
* Provide a varied and enjoyable programme of individual and group activities which enable residents and their family/friends to participate in cultural, spiritual, physical, social and intellectual activities
* Develop and implement a monthly rolling programme of audit to consistently monitor and improve the quality of service
* Develop effective external relationships with local schools, businesses, social organisations and charities, maintaining an active network of community resources, which will further enhance our residents experience
* Ensure that our caring culture is consistently upheld and maintained

You must have a genuine enthusiasm for enhancing the lives of older people and will possess:

* NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or
* QCF Level 3 Award in Supporting Activity Provision in Social Care
* 5 years experience working with vulnerable adults in an acute, residential, community or voluntary setting
* 3 years experience organising activities for any of the following groups: older people, people with learning disabilities, dementia, mental health issues or physical disabilities
* Experience of managing, leading and developing staff teams
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with a supportive and approachable attitude
* Ability to work under own initiative
* Creative skills
* A good knowledge of computer programmes
* Caring and compassionate disposition
* Confident and outgoing personality
* Reliable and flexible approach towards work, including some evenings and wee
