It is an exciting time to be joining Draper Tools in our centenary year and we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hand Tool Buyer to join our Buying team based in Chandler's Ford.

What will you be responsible for?

As a member of our hand tool specialist product team, the Buyer will be responsible for bringing new and innovative products to market. You will identify, source and deliver new products and ranges, as well as new manufacturing opportunities and supply chain improvements. The successful Buyer will also:

- Liaise with suppliers to maintain optimal product quality, stock levels, delivery lead times and cost
- Work alongside the Marketing department to design and proof product packaging, and marketing and sales materials
- Work closely with the Sales and Warehouse teams to ensure a continuous supply of required products and communicate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.
- Work alongside the QA department to ensure existing and new products are compliant with the relevant international standards and European Directives.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with key suppliers to ensure best service and pricing. This will also involve global travel to visit the factories.
- Attend UK and international trade fairs and end-user shows

What do you need?

- A purchasing qualification would be an advantage
- Previous purchasing experience at Buyer level within the tool market or similar environment is preferable
- Self-motivation and ability to resolve conflicting priorities and manage multiple projects
- Demonstrable experience in negotiating and influencing at all levels
- Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
- Good IT skills, confident with Office 365 applications
- Excellent communication skills
