Full Time Temporary Geography Teaching Role from January

The Role

Our client school in Andover is looking to hire a Geography teacher on a temporary basis to start from January, this role will be paid to your current pay scale. This is a good rated school located just off the A303, it has a brilliant school site with state of the art facilities and plenty of parking, and it is also easily reached by bus and train from most large cities including Reading, Salisbury, Basingstoke and Southampton by both car or public transport. You would be expected to be able to maintain and increase the attainment of the pupils under your care, ranging in age from 11-16 years.

The school are looking to interview potential candidates by means of a trial lesson followed by an interview with the head teacher and head of the Humanities Department. Successful candidates will then be placed onto a temporary contract via Teaching Personnel. There is the potential this role could become permanent for the correct teacher.

This position is to be undertaken on a temporary contract for the first two terms of the new academic year however this may extend or become permanent. If this is the case and you would like to continue working at the school this would be preferred to recruiting another teacher.

The responsibilities of this role incorporate the entire responsibilities of a secondary classroom teacher.

The School

Last year within their Geography department results were slightly above the national average having improved on the prior years results and they are looking to improve this again in the coming year with improved policies and resources within the department alongside a very capable cohort of students. This would be an excellent position to take in order to grow as a teacher and expand on your own skills using the training and experience found within the faculty who have a vast amount of experience between them.

The school are happy to accept applications from any teachers at any stage of their career including NQT's looking for their first role, as an NQT you will be fully supported throughout your time with two mentors during the period you are at the school.
