Location: Leeds OR Glasgow

Our client are a growing software consultancy who partner with world class technology providers. Their headquarters are in Leeds, but they have another base in Glasgow. They have a significant and increasing client base, and are looking to recruit highly talented, ambitious and motivated individuals to work on transformational projects.
The Role

Playing a key role in our clients delivery team, you are a talented and ambitious AWS Architect with the ability to architect, design, and develop AWS cloud solutions.  This job requires some travel to client sites and other company offices and involves engagement with clients and potential clients at all points in the client lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Represent our client at pre-sales meetings and understand client requirements
- Perform expert-level advice and needs analysis with our clients.
- Undertake AWS Well Architected reviews

- Lead both high-level and low-level designs, fully document the solution and gain the
approval of the customer - Develop technical roadmaps for future AWS cloud implementations and the client journey
- Develop business case analysis on potential projects
- Ensure security is integrated into all cloud architecture solutions
- Perform advanced systems modelling, simulation, and analysis
- Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs
- Perform expert-level systems AWS development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, cloud architecture analysis and design, and systems engineering
- Develop technical roadmaps for the client’s journey
- Develop business case analysis on potential projects
- Ensure security is integrated into everything we do
- Audit and recommend upgrades to solutions based on current and future requirements 

Knowledge and Experience

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience across the following:

- Strong understanding of core Amazon infrastructure including EC2, S3, ELB, Auto scaling, RDS, VPC, Security Groups, NACLs, IAM, Cloud Formation & Route53
- A good understanding of the AWS Well Architected Framework
- Knowledge of End User Compute (EUC) technologies, e.g. Amazon WorkSpaces, Citrix, RDS
- Knowledge of microservice based architectures
- Experience working in a DevOps environment
- Windows Server (2012 R2 and later)
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP design and implementation
- Ability to present confidently in external group and client settings
- AWS Solution Architect Associate certification or higher 


- Familiarity with Linux server
- Familiarity with Identity Management technologies

- Working with AWS in a serverless context (e.g. use of AWS SAM, Serverless, CodeCommit,
CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, API Gateway, Cognito, Lambda, DynamoDB) - Using development tools such as JIRA, GIT, Jenkins, Maven and SonarQube

- Familiarity with software tools which automate or assist part of the development build
process - Proven implementation experience using Java and Node.js
- Hands-on experience of containerisation technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and ECS
- Experience in configuration management and automation tools such as Chef or Ansible
