English Teaching role - Brent based vacancy - QTS or PGCE required

The Head teacher and governors at a mixed comprehensive Secondary school is seeking a full time Teacher of English from January 2020 or earlier for up to one year.

Due to a member of staff set to take maternity leave in the New Year, the Head teacher is seeking a talented practitioner to join their highly successful English team. If you have the passion required for providing outstanding teaching and learning in English together with the skills required to inspire and enthuse pupils, please see the details below.

* Full time Teacher of English required fro January 2020 or earlier.
* Must hold QTS alongside relevant degree level qualifications/equivalent within English.
* Opportunity to work within a welcoming Secondary school, easily accessible via public transport links
* Pay in line with MPS/UPS GBP24, 373 - GBP40, 490.

The school was established in the early 2000's and has since remained a beacon within the local community, for parents and pupils alike. The school serves the local catchment area of Swiss Cottage, Chalk farm, Camden, Hampstead and Kilburn. Currently there are just over 90 pupils on roll at school, aged 11- 16.

The English department is highly successful and boasts access to modern state of the art resources within dynamic learning spaces. The English department consists of five full time teaching staff, The Head of English and several Learning Support Mentors.

The responsibilities for the Teacher of English will include bur may not be limited to;

* Full planning, preparing and marking responsibilities expected through to GCSE English.
* Maintain positive behaviour in the classroom using behaviour management strategies to ensure pupils are engaged, in accordance to policies in place at school
* Monitor, assess and evaluate pupil achievement taking appropriate action.
* Develop and incorporate pedagogies relevant to the English curriculum to inspire all pupils.
* Use relevant classroom management strategies to ensure a purposeful environment for teaching and learning to take place across the school.

This school has continued to develop under the dedicated guidance of its Senior Leadership Team and each member of staff has contributed towards the success of not only the school but all their pupils, across the subject board, age ranges and abilities.
