Speech and Language Intervention Teaching Assistant required for a Primary School in Burnley

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a primary school that are looking for an individual with experience working with pupils with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) to start in January to cover a year long maternity leave. The primary school is one form entry based in Burnley. The successful applicant will work with pupils specifically identified in classes ranging from EYFS - Year 2 on a 1:1 or small group basis. The identified pupils will have varying levels of ability when it comes to the speech and languages so the selected teaching assistant will take them for intervention sessions to help improve their communication skills. A candidate who has phonics experience would be beneficial as the support will take place in Early Years and Key Stage 1.

The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to a positive learning environment for the pupils and will be expected to deliver pre-planned work to the children but have the ability to adapt the curriculum to make it accessible for the children in line with their educational healthcare plans. The Head Teacher is looking for a dedicated Speech, Language and Communication Teaching Assistant who will bring a positive attitude and new ideas to this lovely school.

Job Type: Full time

Rate of pay: �9.50 - �11.50 per hour

Start date: January 2020

End date: December 2020/ January 2021
