Occupational Therapist (Band 5) - Waltham Abbey & Cheshunt

Salary: £24,000-£26,500

A great role has become available for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join an established organisation, who provide personal care to individuals in residential homes with complex and varied needs including mental health. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals and be responsible for the delivery of effective services across multiple sites in the Waltham Abbey and Cheshunt area.

Key responsibilities

- Use clinical reasoning to review and evaluate client progress, amending treatment plans accordingly
- Use assessment analysis to formulate appropriate objectives for treatment
- To devise, implement and evaluate treatment programmes
- Identify changes in the client's needs and communicate these to relevant professionals
- Produce timely and accurate patient records and reports for the Lead Occupational Therapist and other professionals as required in accordance with regulations
- Ensure correct procedures are followed for the discharging of patients from therapy when treatment is no longer required or appropriate
- Produce well defined written and/or pictorial information, treatment programmes and training for clients
- Contribute to clinical meetings and produce a quarterly report detailing work with patients and other service users
- Maintain and exhibit up to date knowledge and skills relevant to field and practice
- Assist with the day-to-day coordination of Occupational Therapy Assistants
- Assist with the development of relevant OT training
- Other Occupational Therapy duties as required


- A degree in Occupational Therapy
- HCPC registered and member of the British Association of Occupational Therapy
- Relevant postgraduate experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Previous experience or learning in a disability or mental health/secure setting
