Can you make a positive impact on primary learners who need support to manage their behaviour?

An alternative provision in Kingswood, Bristol, is seeking to recruit experienced Behaviour Mentor's for immediate starts on both a full time and part time basis. This provision provides education for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 learners who are no longer attending mainstream education and need a more personalised program.

Students display challenging behaviours with some having duel diagnosis of ASD, ADHD, and mental health conditions. The goal for some students will be to be integrated into mainstream education with others staying until they move onto secondary education. Each child is different and needs nurturing to reach their potential.

About the Role:

* Supporting 1:1 and within small groups during lessons.
* Managing challenging and aggressive behaviour
* Implementing de-escalation techniques
* Working with the student to engage in lesson
* Giving lots of positive praise and encouragement
* Maintain high expectations for learning
* �57 - �65 a day pay (Paid weekly)

Who are we looking for?

* Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or a Learning Mentor
* Experienced (professional or personal) supporting individuals with challenging behaviour OR Special Educational Needs. - This is not a requirement but is desirable.
* MAPPA, Team Teacher or similar training is desired.
* Calm approach while setting clear boundaries and expectations.
* Extra curriculum activities e.g Football, Music, Computer
