A lovely special needs school in Romford is looking to recruit a full time member of support staff for one of their EYFS classes. The class comprises 6 students who have been diagnosed with moderate autism, including mild social and communication difficulties.

You will be required to:

* Work full time (Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 15:30pm)
* Commit to at least the rest of the full academic year January 2020 - July 2020
* Provide support for all children in the class
* Assist with academic, social, communication and sensory development
* Work in a team with the class teacher and another teaching assistant

The school are looking for someone who is committed to a long term role, and who is interested in transferring from the agency contract to a permanent school contract before the end of the academic year.

You must already have experience of working with autism, either in a school setting or an alternative. Experience of using PECs, Makaton or BSL is highly desirable, although most students are verbal.

The school is based in a beautiful building, has plenty of outdoor learning spaces, is easily accessible by bus, train, and has a large and free staff car park.
