A local primary school in Newport is looking to recruit a teaching assistant to support a young student with challenging behaviour . Experience working with challenging behaviour in any setting is ideal so that you have the knowledge of behaviour management and de-escalation techniques.

The candidate will be based in the behaviour base with the student where all of their lessons will be taught. The lessons will mainly be sports, arts and drama. Ensuring that the student is engaged in the learning and eager to learn is the main objective, trying to keep disruption to a minimum.

Training such as safeguarding, team teach, manual handling and other courses will be offered.

The school is located close to the M4 so it is easily accessible and close to public transport links. The school is a new build with outstanding facilities, especially their sports facilities. You will be part of a good learning environment with an abundance of extra curriculum activities. Pupil wellbeing is at the heart of everything the school does, meaning a good environment to be a part of.

The position is paid between �285 and �300 per week . There is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.
