Do you have a background in care or support work and complex needs? Are you looking to transfer your skills into education? Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a mentor to work 1:1 with a child in a specialist SEN school in Plymouth. The school caters for children who are not in mainstream education with complex needs and learning difficulties. You will be working with a specific child to support their learning and well-being.

The role is to start ASAP with the view to continue on a longer term basis after Christmas. It will be Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm term time only. Full and paid training is provided.

The successful candidate will have:

* Be passionate and enthusiastic to work with pupils within the setting to enhance their learning and support their welfare and mental health.
* Must have experience of working with young people and will have had experience of working within the education or healthcare sector and with multi-agencies.
* Will be proactive and eager to carry out responsibilities.
* Need to have NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or similar.
* GCSEs in Maths and English grade C or above.

Training in PECS/ Makaton/BSL/MAPA/Team Teach/Moving and Handling would be advantageous.

Full assistance will be provided should you need to apply for a new check, at a standard cost of �40, plus an annual subscription fee of �13 for the Update Service.
