Teaching Personnel have been contacted by a primary school in Burnley who need a Year 6 teaching assistant to support children in preparation for the SATs. During the morning sessions you would be working within the class and then in the afternoon sessions you would be leading maths and English intervention sessions for small groups of children outside the classroom. The school are looking for a candidate who can deliver high quality maths and English Interventions in order to raise the children's attainment gearing up for the Year 6 SATs. The majority of the children in Year 6 are working inline with the age related expectation. In preparation for the SATs you may be working with targeted groups of children that are working towards National expectations.

You would be working alongside the very experienced class teacher within the Year 6 Class. The class teacher would plan the intervention sessions and you would meet on a weekly basis to discuss curriculum coverage/ objectives and next steps. The Head Teacher is looking for someone who can commit to the role on a long term basis. You must be available to take up a full time teaching assistant role to start as soon as possible, ideally as soon as Monday 25 th November 2019 until the end of the academic year with a view of a permanent contract for the next academic year.
