We are looking for someone who has experience in the LLD and HLD design & configuration of large scale WAN Solutions. We are looking for someone who has experience in IP networking, WAN network design, and IP networks. Ideally you will possess CCNA / CCDA / CCDP / CCNP or equivalent certifications. *Role: Solution Architect, Design Engineer, Design Authority, Customer Solution Design, LLD, HLD *Technology: WAN, LAN, IP networking, Cisco, Unified Comms, Security, IPVPN, MPLS, BGP *Location: Anywhere UK. Utilising site surveys and technical knowhow, you will take ownership of creating Low Level Designs LLD, High Level Designs HLD, Site Implementation Plans and documentation of the solution configurations in support of Cloud & Network deployments. This will take the shape of a Site Implementation Plan (SIP) which the engineering teams will use to deploy the network build on the customer site. The role will provide bespoke, detailed designs & technical ownership for the customer solution including the issuing of detailed network solutions, technical leadership and implementation support. The network designer will be engaged throughout the LLD /HLD design process including the design and documentation of solutions. The Design Engineer will own the technical delivery of customer solutions and will be the technical interface between customer, product teams and project management during service delivery. This includes a product and service portfolio comprising of seamless converged network, Internet & IT solutions such as; MPLS, Ethernet, VPN, UC/VoIP, Hosting, Cloud & Managed Services etc. Potential candidates should possess demonstrable experience within highly complex Low Level Solution design and technical architecture whereby you can demonstrate both strong commercial & technical abilities. Responsibilities: *Capture and interpret customer requirements *Design complex and custom solutions for WAN, LAN, WiFi requirements *Produce LLD and HLD design documentation *Build accurate scalable cost models and provide input into pricing strategy *Identify and document any risks to the solution *Document solution in RFP responses *Propose Statement of Works and High Level Designs. *Ensure solutions are deliverable in timeframes committed *Production of Customer Designs for LAN / WAN and IT Infrastructure *Coordinate production of the Subcontractor Customer Design documents *Interface to external contracts as required *Support delivery teams *Interface into the equipment qualification process *Present to internal stakeholders and up to C-level customers *Lead virtual solution team throughout bid Candidate profile: We are looking for someone who has experience in the design of large scale Networks including highly complex Low Level Solution design and technical architectures whereby your technical knowledge includes: *Complex WAN, Telecoms, Network & Cloud Infrastructure environments *Candidates must have technical Low Level Design (LLD) and High Level Design (HLD) design exposure across WAN, LAN, IP VPN, MPLS etc. *IP Networking (WAN & LAN) *Unified Comms including IPT, Contact Centre, IM, Email and Video Conferencing *Security solutions *Mobility and Mobile Data Services *Experience with IT Managed Services desired, preferably with ITIL, eTOM or TOGAF *Ability to understand the individual site survey reports and produce the required output *Ability to question the site survey engineers both internally and externally *It is desirable for candidates to have some Cisco certifications ranging from CCNA to CCNP, CCDP, CCIE written/full lab. *It is essential for the successful individual to currently hold OR be eligible to pass BPSS (Basic Check) and SC level security clearance checks. @mecscomms: uniting opportunity with ambition in Telecoms | Media | Technology @mecscomms is the brand name of MECS Communications Ltd who provide permanent & contract recruitment consultancy service as an Employment Agency & Employment Business.
