A Procurement Manager / Asset Manager is needed to join the IT department of the uniquely placed organisation, dedicated to enhancing education and enriching the learning experience. This is a temporary position starting asap on a 2 years contract. Established in 2015 by bringing together three formerly separate divisions within a university to share resources and expertise with their customers. With over 120,000 students in London and a further 50,000 studying across the globe, our client is an established educational institution renowned for excellence and its world class reputation. As their Procurement Manager / Asset Manager expect to play a key part in their world class team. Joining as the Procurement Manager / Asset Manager your day to day activities will involve being responsible for managing activities in the IT Procurement function, ensuring IT products and services are procured in the most cost effective and time efficient manner representing 'value for money' procurement. Part of the role involves appraising suppliers and negotiating contracts. The Procurement Manager / Asset Manager will also encompass the acquisition, tracking and subsequent disposal of IT Assets for the University of London, ensuring current procurement best practice is followed, software license compliancy is achieved and all assets are disposed of in accordance with WEEE directive regulations. To qualify... You should be a Procurement Manager / Asset Manager / Asset Protect Manager / Procurement Officer or similar with a CV that demonstrates: Educated to degree level; Full or Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply; Excellent strategic and analytical skills; Expertise in software licensing models, agreements, terms and conditions, as well as the understanding of UK and EU Procurement legislation; Significant experience with a responsibility for asset management of IT, in excess of 10,000 individual IT items; Substantial experience of procurement within the HE sector; Demonstrable experience of managing large and complex IT procurement within a multibudget and stakeholder environment; Demonstrable experience of IT contract negotiations that delivered desired outcomes; Demonstrable experience of supplier relationship management. It would be desirable to have any of these skills / experience: PRINCE2 or APM qualified, ITIL v3 Foundation, Experience of working within Higher Education in a Procurement role, Experience of procuring IT consultancy services and SaaS services, Experience of implementing sustainable procurement practices, Experience of implementing e-procurement methods in a large complex organisation, Experience of using eProcurement tools, Service management software (ServiceNow) and modern ERP systems (ideally UNIT4 Business World), Knowledge of best practice quality standards including ISO 9001.
