Senior Civil/Structural Engineer (Highways) Manchester £40-45 per/hour. 6 months + ASAP start “My client purposes are to improve people’s lives by delivering integrated leading-edge smart infrastructure solutions to meet national needs across the UK’s energy, water, transportation and defence markets” The Role · Lead the detailed design of highways maintenance depot · Attend design and site meetings and carry out site inspections · Preparing technical reports, fee proposals, bids, budgets, resource levels and all associated HSE, CDM and QA aspects. · Responsible for ensuring that projects are completed in a timely and cost-effective way · Provide technical guidance when necessary · Communication between multi-disciplinary teams The ideal candidate · BEng/Meng in Civil or Structural Engineering · Chartership with ICE or IStructE (or working towards) Experience: · Minimum 10 years’ experience in design and construction of major and minor highways and transport infrastructure in the UK. · Specialist design experience in highways road and drainage essential. · Reinforced concrete, structural steel and temporary works design experience [desirable] · Computer-literate, skilled in the use of AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Microdrainage and associated software for the preparation of highway design drawings. · Experience of leading design teams and managing resources effectively with a client facing role. · Full knowledge of overseeing organisation’s DMRB and MCHW. · Up to date and fully conversant with the role of Principal Designer under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
