We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Financial and Management Accountant to join us based at our London site. You will join us on a full time, fixed term contract (to July 2020) and in return, we are offering acompetitive salary of £28,250 per annum. The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two public sites at London and Cosford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support our charitable activities. About the role: As our Financial and Management Accountant you will be responsible for day to day financial and management reporting of RAFMEL (Royal Air Force Museum Enterprises Ltd). You’ll also be responsible for accounting for all income and expenditure relating to RAFMEL, providing monthly management reports and other ad hoc reports and for producing annual statutory reports for audit. Key responsibilities of our Financial and Management Accountant include: - Responsible for preparation and first review of monthly management accounts - Closing the monthly books through to preparation of monthly management accounts, including notes and commentary - Preparation of the first draft year-end financial statements - Assist in the completion of the annual budgeting process - Act as business partner to budget holders - Maintenance of the Business Intelligence system in Sage 200 - Preparation of all balance sheet reconciliations, including bank reconciliations - Preparation of the commercial profit share calculation and reconciliation - Preparation of all month end journal postings (accruals, deferrals, prepayments, etc.) - Ownership of the entity’s fixed asset register What we are looking for in our ideal Financial and Management Accountant: - Qualified or part-qualified accountant - Ability to work collaboratively with the small finance team and build relationships with non-finance heads of departments - Experienced in working to deadlines - Have an attention for detail required to produce accurate first-time reports - Proficiency in Excel is essential and experience working with Sage 200 is highly desirable - Strong IT literacy, including high level of competency with Microsoft Office products - Strong knowledge of taxation issues, particularly VAT Closing date for applications: Thursday 9th January 2020 at 10am Interviews will take place on: Thursday 16th January 2020 Please click apply now to be re-directed to our jobs page where you can access the application method and details for the Financial and Management Accountant role.
