An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Care Assistant to work in a care home. The home is located in North London.

The company is looking for a confident, competent Senior Care Assistant to work with the care team in looking after and caring for the elderly residents. The ideal candidate will be one who has the values and compassion to care for the residents unconditionally. You will also need experience of working as a Senior Care Assistant or Senior Carer with the ability to manage, guide and act as a role model for your team of care assistants. You will have a strong understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to ensuring person centered care. As a Senior Care Assistant you will be required to;

To support residents in all activities of all daily living which are specified in their care plan and/ or are required in order to maximize wellbeing

Personal care/ support in feeding

Lead and maintain a positive, effective team

Organise staffing rotas

Administering medication and train your team to do this

To engage with residents and other stakeholders in a way that reflects their preferences, abilities as well as taking into account any specific needs they may have

Work effectively with multi- disciplinary teams

Applicants must have the following requirements;

NVQ3 in Health and Social Care or a commitment to undertaking this

Completed all mandatory training

Good communication skills (verbal and written)

Enjoy being active and supporting people in a residential elderly care setting

An understanding of dementia

Enjoy working creatively with clients

Be able to work flexible hours including some weekends

Ability to work alone and as part of a team

IT literate and willingness to complete electronic care plans

Initiative with effective problem solving skills
