Job Description:
Working as part of a dynamic and reactive team you will be responsible for analysis and validation of metallic and composite structures for static and fatigue strength to support structural repairs according to validated methods. You will ensure adherence to airworthiness regulations, relevant design principles, processes, methods and manufacturing capabilities guidelines. As a part of this team your primary role will be to provide stress analysis for the repair/acceptance of damaged aircraft structures in addition to performing monitoring/guidance and support to sub-contract suppliers providing structural analysis work.
Main Tasks:
•Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales.
•With good customer skills, provide responses for routine repairs queries, giving advice and guidance on repair matters as required within Customer Support processes/procedures.
•Create, compile and co-ordinate engineering documentation to achieve valid technical data for repairs.
•Alongside the Repair Design and F&DT Engineers, be a member of an integrated engineering team, ensuring its strategy, policy and direction is maintained.
Skills and Qualifications:
•HNC/HND qualification and minimum of 5 years experience in an engineering environment.
•Static analysis of aircraft structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer methods
•An understanding of the fundamental method of analysis for static stressing and an ability to develop these methods
•Ability to liaise/negotiate with Design/Production, Customer Services and risk sharing partners.
•PC skills and a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
•Be conversant with the technical requirements for designing repairs
•Good interpersonal and communication skills
•The ability to translate customer requirements into operational deliverables and prioritise.
