Procurement Operations Manager – Manchester – Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Procurement Operations Manager to work for a global legal company based in Central Manchester. This role would suit procurement professionals keen to work for a global brand. Experience of working within a global procurement role will be highly advantageous.

Key responsibilities and deliverables



* Management of the Procurement Operations Team to deliver against SLAs and lead continuous improvement
* Research and propose continuous improvement strategies to improve the delivery of the function, including supporting the P2P Operations Manager with the development of procurement operation strategies
* Support the Procurement Operations Manager in implementing new tools and technology and expanding the scope and delivery of the service
* Support the Procurement Category managers with spend and market analysis
* Develop and implement a tail spend management strategy, identifying where the team can best add value, including the reporting of associated savings
* Governance of procurement systems and information
* Work with Category Managers to establish resource support for strategic projects
* Own the function target for vendor reduction
* Provide system implementation support and work closely with Project Managers to align systems to procurement requirements


* Provide expertise, guidance and support to the Procurement Specialist in relation to the production of procurement spend data and other analytical activities
* Work with PMO to better understand new projects across the Firm, including attendance at ‘ideas’ meetings, where you will advise the attendees on the correct procurement process

Skills and experience



* Excellent interpersonal skills, and a demonstrable ability to influence stakeholders
* Excellent communication skills with an ability to switch styles to suit different audiences
* Adept at multi-tasking and prioritising conflicting demands
* Strong customer service ethos
* Experience of working on projects including working closely with Project Managers
* Experience of working in a global procurement role is desirable


* MCIPS, or working towards is desirable
* Team management experience will be highly beneficial
