Location: Flex in location potentially would suit someone near Reading to cover the Thames region, travel to sites involved.

My Client has been included on a Thames Water (TW) framework for maintaining screens at treatment plants. This is a ‘ground floor’ opportunity for the company to establish itself as a key supplier to TW that provides similar opportunity for a self-starter to demonstrate their capability and ambition. Success in the role would be expected to require additional staff to be recruited to create a team to support a growing business with TW.

This role will be responsible for growth of business whilst being the key lead and focal point for all business with Thames Water. Initially responsible for the whole life cycle of projects from concept to delivery but is expected that this role would expand into the management of a team as business increases. Identifying, developing and managing key stakeholders and promoting potential/future business development with Thames Water in order to generate sales to achieve maximum profitability against annual sales target.

Other Requirements:

* Current valid driving license.

* Able to work outside on sites which relate to wastewater.

* Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing, kneeling or crouching.

* Occasional overnight stays may be required.

Competency & Qualifications:

* A broad knowledge of the wastewater industry is important along with the ability to guide the business in technological developments.
* Engineering qualified to Degree/HND or equivalent or qualified by experience.
* Previous experience of working on equipment/engineering equipment. Water industry/environmental experience desired.
* Good all-round knowledge of Industrial mechanical installation and maintenance.
* Commercially astute with excellent business acumen.
* Ability to prioritise own workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to complete work within set deadlines.
* SMSTS – Site safety management desirable.
* Experience and knowledge of managing NEC 3 Contracts.
* Project management trained with experience in project management, planning and coordination, including the use of current PM tools e.g. Microsoft Office/Project, GANNT charts etc.
* A proven people manager with several years of experience delivering time critical and projects.
* Confined spaces to City and Guilds - preferred.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety issues in connection with the construction industry.
* Excellent MS Office computer skills.

* Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills and customer service skills.

Key Duties:

* Identifying, developing and managing key stakeholders and promoting potential/future business development with Thames Water in order to generate sales to achieve maximum profitability against annual sales target; scoping, proposing and delivering solutions.
* Take ownership of Thames Water activity. Lead and guide the development of internal structure in support of growth. This may include expansion, recruitment, management of resources and preparation of business plans as required.
* Gather, record and report on Thames Water intelligence and company structure that impact on the business.
* Create and drive forward a customer/company integration plan that must extend across all levels and activities of the business.
* Plan and deliver projects to time, cost and quality utilising the company wide resources to best effect to satisfy the customer and company business needs.
* Providing innovative and achievable solutions to customer challenges within the operating field of the business. Promote all company products and services to the customer in order to maximise opportunities.
* Estimate jobs within contractual time constraints, producing solutions and quotations for customers ensuring maximum profits whilst maintaining quality standards and excellent customer service.

* Monitor job costings and implement financial controls where needed. Understanding the reasons for profits and losses.

* Writing reports and analysing relevant business data, including spend trends, in order to enable effective forward planning. Must satisfy the KPI requirements of the contract or framework.
* Carry out site inspections and compile survey reports for quotation purposes.
* To ensure that all the Company policies and procedures for ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 are implemented and that regulations on health and safety are adhered to in order to maintain a safe working environment. This will include any customer’s specific regulations.
* Any other tasks the Regional Operations Manager may reasonably request from time to time.
